  • About Me
I am a second-generation Mexican American. Although my immigrant parents were poor, with no more than a third-grade education, their hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance provided me with a higher-level education. Growing up a Mexican American female meant a strict upbringing consumed with domestic shores. In my spare moments, I read books like Rebecca, Wuthering Heights, Ramona, and Agatha Christi’s mysteries. These novels formed the foundation for my writing. I have worked in corporate finance for forty years, but I never lost my dream of writing LA TEMBLADORA, inspired by actual events from my mother’s tragic youth. I received an MFA from Queens University, where LA TEMBLADORA served as my thesis. Since then, I have worked with a developmental editor and have made extensive revisions.
