Originally from Afghanistan, I was educated in Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Soviet Union and the United States, receiving my B.A. from Brandeis University in Russian Language and Literature, and my M.A. in International Law and International Business from The American University in Washington, DC. I have received a Certificate in Creative Writing from the Santa Fe Community College. I was assistant editor of the International Year of the Child Report, UNICEF, New York; and was editor at large at the Santa Fe Literary Review.
My short story, “The Swimmer,” was published by the Santa Fe Literary Review in August 2015 and “The Proposal,” was published in New Mexico’s Emerging Writers – An Anthology in 2018.
