Pride and Puppies Pride and Puppies by Lizzie Shane is $3.99 as a KDD, and I don’t see any price matching yet. This is a contemporary that was published late last year, so it’s rather new – and, obviously, it’s a P&P retelling, with puppies. It has a 3.68 average on GoodReads, where many of the reviews say it’s “cute.” Have you read this book? Struggling to find her modern-day Mr. Darcy, a Jane Austen fan gets more than she bargained for when she swears off men and adopts an adorable puppy. Dr. Charlotte Rodriguez is single—again—and she blames Jane Austen. She made brooding, aloof men sound oh sodreamy. But after years of failing to find her own Mr. Darcy, Charlotte decides it’s time to swear off dating. She’s going to lavish all her love and affection on someone who actually deserves it: her new puppy, Bingley. And there’s no one better to give her pet advice than her neighbor and coworker George Leneghan. He’s quiet and patient and, best of all, way too sweet to ever be her type. But as their friendly banter turns flirty, the unimaginable happens—Charlotte starts catching feelings. Just as Charlotte is trying to untangle what it is she truly wants, George announces he’s contemplating a cross-country move. Suddenly, Charlotte wonders if she’s kept her soulmate in the friend zone so long that she’s entirely missed her chance at a happily ever after. Dear Reader, could it be possible she’s had it wrong all this time? Add to Goodreads To-Read List → You can find ordering info for this book here. Lucky in Love Lucky in Love by Jill Shalvis is $1.99! This is book four in the Lucky Harbor series, and let me tell you, I had a moment when I looked up the publication date for our database and it said “2012.” HOW. HOW! Anyway, this is a series that combines familiar contemporary romance tropes with a LOT of humor. Shalvis’ books typically crack me up, and many of the reviews on Goodreads, where this book has a 4.2-star average, reference how funny it is. Have you read this one? This is the first three books in the series, Dragonflight, Dragonquest and The White Dragon in one volume. WOOT. This is a much beloved series, and was mentioned on the podcast in episode 226 as one of the series that made listener Karoline a romance reader. I love a formative series, and I love fantasy, and you know I love dragons. How about you? Are you a Dragonriders of Pern fan? The first three books in the world’s most beloved science-fiction series–finally together in one volume! Dragonflight After ten long Turns, Lessa was ready to come out of hiding, to claim her birthright and become Weyrwoman of Benden. But suddenly, the deadly silver Threads once again threatened all Pern with destruction. The mighty telepathic dragons were fewer in number, not nearly enough to protect the planet in its hour of greatest peril…until Lessa hatched a daring and dangerous scheme to rally support from people who had long ago ceased to exist. Dragonquest Another Turn and the deadly silver Threads began falling again. The bold dragonriders took to the air once more to destroy the shimmering strands before they hit the ground. But F’lar knew he had to find a better way to protect his beloved Pern, before the Oldtimers could breed any more dissent…before his brother F’nor could launch another suicide mission…and before those dratted fire-lizards could stir up any more trouble! The White Dragon Never before had there been as close a bond as that between adventurous Lord Jaxom and his extraordinary pure white dragon, Ruth. Though Ruth was a dragon of many talents, almost everyone on Pern thought he was a runt. But Jaxom knew better, iknew he could teach his dragon to fly and to destroy the deadly silver Threads…a belief that put them both in the path of danger and in a position to prevent the biggest disaster of all!
