http://smartbitchestrashybooks.com/WP/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Depositphotos_52671211_original-300x200.jpgWelcome back to Wednesday Links! I’m still in Florida and let’s just say it isn’t going super well.

My flight was also delayed by a giant man baby refusing to wear a mask and then cursing out a plane mostly full of families going to Disney.

On the bright side, I did get a pretty sporty rental car and I went to Atlanta for the Georgia Aquarium to finally see their whale sharks.

In the recent Hide Your Wallet, Sneezy mentioned a nonfiction title called The Dark Fantastic. Well apparently it’s part of a larger collection of pop culture nonfiction that sounds pretty fucking cool with titles like Old Futures: Speculative Fiction and Queer Possibility and Open TV: Innovation beyond Hollywood and the Rise of Web Television. Keep in mind that these are clearly designed to be textbooks, so they’re on the pricier side.

The President of Ireland has an 8-month old Bernese Mountain Dog and it acts just as you’d expect.

Calling all writers! We Need Diverse Books has announced LitUp, LitUp, a women’s writer’s fellowship for unpublished, underrepresented voices. In conjunction with Reese’s Book Club Hello Sunshine and Madcap Retreats, LitUp is offering an all-expenses-paid writer’s retreat, a three month mentorship with a published author, and marketing support from Reese’s Book Club to five writers.

Check out LitUp for more information. Apply by May 30, 2021.

I wanted to share this quote:

Sometimes fanfiction is a love letter to the original canon, sometimes it’s just that one telegram that says “Fuck you. Strongly worded letter to follow”.

If you’re a music nerd or just like learning new things, here’s a breakdown of Irish music (specifically jigs) and how they can be turned into pop song covers.

Don’t forget to share what super cool things you’ve seen, read, or listened to this week! And if you have anything you think we’d like to post on a future Wednesday Links, send it my way!
